Welcome Smith Bulldogs!

I am thrilled to be here and serve as your counselor!!  I started my education career in 2015 and still LOVE what I do!!I am originally from Kansas City, KS.  Go KU!!!  I attended Texas Woman’s University for my Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology.  After earning my Master’s degree in Education from Grand Canyon University, I worked as a special education teacher for 8 years.  The last 6 years, I taught in Wylie ISD.  During that time, I pursued my Master’s degree in School Counseling.  I graduated from Texas Tech in 2021.  My husband and I have 3 wonderful daughters.  We love spending time as a family, going to the movies, and playing games together. 

I am passionate about supporting students as they grow emotionally and socially.  I will partner with parents and teachers to help meet each student’s needs.  This may look like small groups with students, whole group/classroom lessons, or individual meetings with students.
