This year will be my 24th year in education, 12th year at Smith Elementary and I have to say, "There is no place like Wylie ISD and there is definitely no place like Smith Elementary!" Smith is a fabulous school family sparkling in pride and excellence and I'm proud to be the principal! I am also extremely proud to say all three of my kids are Smith Bulldogs (because Once a Bulldog . . . Always a Bulldog)! I see our students as problem-solvers, innovators, great friends, and life-long learners that will meet the challenges of the 21st Century and shape the world into something better than what we've known. Your children inspire me each day, and I am grateful to play a part in their first steps into the future! Smith Elementary School's accomplishments are impressive, and I consider it a privilege to serve with such a dynamic educational campus family.
I was born and raised in Coppell, Texas. After graduating from Dallas Baptist University, I began my teaching career at Coppell Middle School West (where I was once a student). I received my Master's Degree in Educational Administration from University of North Texas, and Superintendent certification from A&M Commerce. My family and I moved to the Wylie area, where I have served for the past 20+ years as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal. My husband, Jay, and I have three children - Blaine 24 (A&M Graduate now IT for Shutterfly - Gig'em!), Mikaylee 19 (Sophomore at UMHB pursuing a degree in Nursing, and Allye 16 (junior at Wylie High). I enjoy spending time with my family, volunteering at church, crafting and jogging.

This will be my 13th year in education and my 8th year as a Smith Bulldog; all years have been in Wylie ISD. I taught 5th grade for five years and was blessed to be a stay-at-home mom with my children when my second child was born. I was blessed to teach at the same elementary school they attended, Smith Elementary. I am incredibly excited to continue my educational journey as the Assistant Principal. I have taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. Smith Elementary School is one of the absolute best! I firmly believe all students can learn, grow, and accomplish great things, and I look forward to all the great things our Smith Bulldogs will achieve this year.
My husband and I have been married for 19 wonderful years and have two beautiful daughters, a sophomore at Wylie High School and an 8th grader at McMillan Junior High School. I am a 2001 graduate of Texas A&M University. Whoop! A few years after graduating, I pursued teaching and earned my teaching certificate. I graduated with my master’s degree in educational leadership in 2023.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, playing games, spending time with my family and friends, traveling, and watching my girls do what they love, which is playing sports.
